The Oak Skatepark is a community-driven action sports destination in Manchester, Connecticut, created after the town’s original skatepark was demolished and local riders organized directly with city leadership to advocate for a new facility. Located at a prominent gateway off Interstate 384, the park reconnects recreational space long divided by highway infrastructure and serves as both a functional skatepark and a highly visible civic landmark. Designed and built through close collaboration between the Town of Manchester, the skatepark committee, and American Ramp Company, The Oak reflects extensive rider input, multiple design iterations, and a shared goal of creating a vibrant, inclusive space that supports recreation, community connection, and long-term downtown vitality.
